I recently shot a home for @hitqualityconstruction

I recently shot a home for @hitqualityconstruction which was located in Whistler, B.C. I jumped to the opportunity to not only photograph this home but help style it. The house was a beautiful log chalet and was full of architecture detail. This one needed to be captured appropriately. Over the years, l’ve been labelled as a “bright and airy” photographer but it’s important to recognize that when a space shouts to be captured in a more subtle and moody direction, you have to make sure you are capable of getting the job done. I really enjoyed the change and think it’s good to show versatility when it comes to my photography. When it came to styling, Syndi and James gave me full rein to help them make the home come to life.... With a U-Haul full of props and some of my own stuff, we made it happen. Even improvising by using a lemon squeezer in place of a small wooden spoon for the bath salts worked out. As of late, I have been happy to not only photograph but also be part of the styling team. To see a vision come to life, no matter the space, every little object placed perfectly, counts. Thank you Syndi and James for the opportunity.

There's something special about late summer evenings spent on the water. With the past few weeks being incredibly busy with photography, I've been cherishing every moment of the remaining summer. The other evening, I went kayaking with a friend and her dog, Willow and just had to share.

As August comes to a close, the sweet smell of rip

As August comes to a close, the sweet smell of ripe blackberries is in the air and each year I do my best to pluck as many as I can from the prickly branches. As one would, with my mouth watering, I manage to grip my camera with stained, blue hands and take some snaps before they are all gone.

Thought I would check in to say a quick hello and hope everyone is having a nice summer …or winter if you’re on the opposite side of the world than me… as I know some of you are. If you’ve been following my stories, they’ve been filled up with work and walks with Vinny. There are so many creative projects I’ve been wanting to tackle and share but where does the time go?!!! In the next couple of weeks, I hope to inspire and share some pretty ideas but for now, in case you have missed me due to my lack of posting and delinquency, here I am. Although I have to add that I am thoroughly enjoying what you all are getting up to and must thank you for all your inspiration! @jasalynthorne your persistence and gentle guidance behind the camera is everything.

I am still “reeling” from our trip to Europe a

I am still “reeling” from our trip to Europe and wanted to share the room we stayed at while in Paris. As I mentioned in my stories a couple of weeks ago, @hoteleldorado.paris was the hotel we stayed at while on our honeymoon, back in 2002. Hence why we wanted to stay there on this trip to Paris. My goodness, it has changed!!!! Such a fun and eclectic hotel to stay at. I will leave the link in my bio so that you can see more overall photos of our room and the rest of the hotel. I didn’t have a tripod so the photos aren’t as sharp as they would’ve been with one…. I do hope my little vignettes at least give you a sense of how fun our hotel room #10 was.
